Drift In is a traditional 'seaside' cottage, situated at the quiet end of the high street, yet within easy reach of the beach and a variety of shops. Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten, who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival, which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends. Drift In is a traditional 'seaside' cottage, situated at the quiet end of the High Street, yet within easy reach of the beach and a variety of shops. The cottage has been renovated and refurbished to a very high standard. There is also wheelchair access from the rear of the property and sliding doors to the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. The ground floor is all on one level. Shop: 150yds Pub: 150yds. Ground Floor: Open Plan Sitting Room/Kitchen with TV/DVD/Freeview, gas cooker, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, gate-leg table and seating Utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer Bedroom 1 with a single bed (2' 6'') Bathroom with bath, hand-held shower, washbasin and w.c. Fairly steep stairs to First Floor: Bedroom 2 with twin beds and washbasin Bedroom 3 with a double bed and En-Suite Shower Room with power shower, washbasin and w.c. Parking: Roadside outside the property or public car park. Heating: Gas-fired central heating. Notes: During the Aldeburgh Carnival week there will be an increase of £100 for the week.
